Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Sang-Kirtan. By creating an account, browsing events, registering for a gathering, or hosting a community, you agree to them. Please read them — they're short and written to be understood.
Last updated: June 10, 20261. What Sang-Kirtan is
Sang-Kirtan is a platform that connects seekers with spiritual gatherings — kirtans, meditation circles, satsangs, retreats, festivals, and community events. We provide the tools to discover, publish, and register for events. Events themselves are organised and run by independent communities and organisers, not by Sang-Kirtan.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Sang-Kirtan.
- You sign in with your Google account and are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- Provide accurate information in your profile and keep it up to date. Do not impersonate another person or community.
3. Registering for events
- Registering for an event reserves your spot and shares your registration with the organiser so they can plan the gathering.
- If your plans change, please unregister so your spot can go to someone else.
- Attendance, venue access, safety, and any payments or donations connected to an event are the responsibility of the organiser, not Sang-Kirtan.
4. Hosting communities and events
If you create a community or publish events, you additionally agree to:
- Provide truthful information about your community and events, including dates, venues, capacity, and contact details.
- Hold any permissions or licences needed to run your events, and comply with applicable laws and venue rules.
- Use attendee information only to organise and run your event — never for spam, marketing without consent, or any other purpose.
- Only upload images and content you have the right to use. Your community name, logo, and published events are publicly visible.
- Honestly represent your verification status. Verification badges are granted by Sang-Kirtan and may be revoked if a community misrepresents itself.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or harmful.
- Use the platform to promote violence or discrimination against any group.
- Create fake events, fake registrations, or misleading community profiles.
- Scrape, copy, or harvest data from the platform, or attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours.
- Interfere with the operation or security of the service.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice, to protect the community.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you post — event descriptions, community profiles, and images. By posting it, you grant Sang-Kirtan a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content as part of operating and promoting the platform (for example, showing your published event on discovery pages and in search results). You can delete your content at any time, and this licence ends when the content is removed, except for copies in routine backups.
7. Disclaimers
Sang-Kirtan is provided "as is" and "as available". We are an early-stage platform and do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not vet, endorse, or guarantee any event, organiser, or attendee — a verification badge indicates that we have reviewed basic information about a community, not that we supervise its activities. Use your own judgement when attending gatherings, especially in person.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sang-Kirtan and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from events organised by third parties, your attendance at any gathering, or your reliance on content posted by other users. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us to use it (currently nothing — Sang-Kirtan is free).
9. Termination
You can stop using Sang-Kirtan at any time and may request account deletion by emailing legal@sang-kirtan.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or harm the platform or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licences for past public activity, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. We will post the updated terms on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. If a change is significant, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. Continuing to use Sang-Kirtan after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
