Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Sang-Kirtan ("we", "us", "the platform") is a platform for discovering and hosting spiritual events — kirtans, meditation circles, satsangs, retreats, and community gatherings. This policy applies to the Sang-Kirtan website and any services we provide through it.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile information

• Sign-in details. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.
• Profile details you provide. Information you add to your profile, such as your name, city, and spiritual interests.

Community (organization) information

• If you create a community, we collect the community name, description, website, logo, and other details you provide. Community profiles are public and visible to all visitors.

Event and registration data

• Events you create — including title, description, date, venue, contact details, and banner images — are publicly visible once published.
• When you register for an event, we record your registration so the organiser can plan the gathering.

Technical information

• Standard technical data needed to operate the service securely, such as authentication session cookies and basic request logs.

3. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
• To show your registrations to you and to the organisers of events you join.
• To display public community and event pages you choose to publish.
• To keep the platform safe, prevent abuse, and debug technical problems.
• To communicate with you about your account or important platform changes.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. What event organisers can see

When you register for an event, the organiser of that event can see your registration and basic profile information (such as your name) so they can prepare for the gathering. Organisers may not use attendee information for anything beyond running their event. If you cancel a registration, it is removed from the organiser's attendee list.

5. Where your data lives

We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run Sang-Kirtan:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (profile data, events, registrations, and uploaded images).
• Vercel — hosting and delivery of the website.
• Google— sign-in (Google OAuth), governed by Google's own privacy policy.

These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own security and privacy commitments. Access to your data within our systems is restricted by database-level security rules.

6. Cookies

We use only essential cookies — primarily the session cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. How long we keep data

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we delete your personal information except where we need to retain limited records to comply with law or resolve disputes.

8. Your rights and choices

• Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile from your dashboard at any time.
• Cancel registrations. You can unregister from events you have joined.
• Deletion. To delete your account and associated personal data, email us at legal@sang-kirtan.com.
• Questions or complaints. Contact us at the same address and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can.

9. Children

Sang-Kirtan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), authenticated sessions, and row-level security rules in our database. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we design the platform to minimise the data we hold and who can see it.

11. Changes to this policy

As Sang-Kirtan grows, we may update this policy. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated more prominently. Your continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the revised policy. See also our Terms of Service.
